Mobile Loan Signing Agent in Boise and the Treasure Valley

By Jim Allen, an Idaho Mobile Notary since 2018

Your lender or title company says the papers are ready, and a notary has to be there when you sign. You don’t want to take off work and drive across town. So I come to you — your kitchen table, your office, wherever you’re sitting.

I handle refinances, home purchases, seller packages, reverse mortgages, and home equity loans across the Treasure Valley.

  • Hiring me directly? I quote it before I come out, because every loan package is different
  • Printing and scanning the documents are part of the signing
  • Monday through Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to noon, after hours by arrangement
  • Notary public since 2018, more than 3,500 signings

Call or text (208) 826-1210, or book online any time.

What happens at the kitchen table

A loan package is a thick stack of paper. Here’s how it goes.

  1. I check ID. Every signer shows a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID, and the name on it has to match the name on the documents.
  2. We go through the stack together. I show you where to sign, where to initial, and where to date, and I tell you which pages get notarized.
  3. You sign in front of me. Then I notarize the pages that need it.
  4. I scan the signed pages as part of the appointment, following the instructions from your title or escrow company.

If you want to read a page before you sign it, read it. I’ll wait.

Questions about your rate or terms go to your lender

I’m the notary, not the loan officer.

I can tell you where a page gets signed. I can’t tell you whether the rate is a good one, what a fee is for, or whether you should sign at all. Those questions belong to your lender or escrow officer.

If something in the package doesn’t match what you were told, stop and ask. I’ll wait while you call your loan officer or escrow officer, and we pick back up once you’ve got your answer.

Where I meet you

Your home, your office, or somewhere else that works for you — in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Star, Kuna, and Garden City.

Out of town when your closing lands? Ask your title or escrow company whether your package can be signed by remote online notarization.

What a loan signing costs

If you’re the borrower or the seller hiring me directly, I quote it before I come out. A seller package and a reverse mortgage aren’t the same job, and I’d rather give you a real number than a guess.

Text me what you’re signing, where, and when, and I’ll tell you the price and the soonest time I have open.

Witnesses, if your documents call for them and I bring them: $60 each

What to have ready before I get there

  1. ID for every signer. Valid, unexpired, government-issued, with a photo.
  2. Everyone on the loan, at the table. Each signer signs in front of me.
  3. Your loan officer’s or escrow officer’s phone number. Handy if a question about the loan comes up.

Escrow officers, title companies, and signing services

I also sign for escrow and title offices, loan officers, and signing services. I take orders through SnapDocs, BancServe, Signing Order, and NotaryDash. I carry $1 million in E&O insurance and a current NNA background check.

When your office is short-handed, I’ll come in and handle signings there.

The details for escrow teams are on my mobile notary page for escrow teams.

Questions about loan signings

What does a loan signing agent do?

A loan signing agent is a notary who handles the signing appointment for a mortgage or home equity loan. I check ID, show you where each page gets signed, initialed, and dated, and notarize the pages that need it.

Can you come to my house for a refinance signing?

Yes. I come to your home, your office, or another spot that works for you, anywhere in the Treasure Valley.

Can you explain my loan documents?

No. Rates, fees, and terms are questions for your lender or escrow officer. I’ll show you where to sign and which pages get notarized, and I’ll wait while you call them if something doesn’t look right.

How much does a mobile loan signing cost?

If you’re hiring me directly, I quote it before I come out, because loan packages vary. Witnesses are $60 each if your documents need them and I bring them.

What ID do I need?

A valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID for every signer. The name on it has to match the name on the loan documents. If it doesn’t, call your escrow officer before the appointment.

Does everyone on the loan have to be there?

Every person signing has to sign in front of me with their own ID. If someone can’t make it, ask your title or escrow company what they allow.

When can you do the signing?

Monday through Friday from 8am to 8pm, and Saturday from 9am to noon. After-hours signings happen by arrangement, not on demand. Same day is often possible when I have an open slot.
