Need Your California Live Scan Before Your Next Assignment?
Why California Requires Its Own Live Scan
California is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact. Even nurses with an active multistate RN license must get a separate California RN license to work a California contract — and that license requires a Live Scan fingerprint background check through the CA Department of Justice.
Your Three Options
1 – Fly Back to California
Expensive, and it costs you a day or more of your time off.
2 – Mail In an FD-258 Card
A 4–6 week wait. Most contract start dates and licensing deadlines don’t leave that kind of time.
3 – Idaho Notary Signing Agent — Mobile Service (Recommended)
We come to your rental, extended-stay, or break room, anywhere in the Treasure Valley, and process your fingerprints, paperwork, and all government fees on the spot. Most clients have results back in under a week.
Flat Rate — $349 Per Person
One price covers your mobile appointment, live scan fingerprint capture, paperwork, and all required government fees — no surprises. We even provide copies of the submission report and a link to the CA DOJ to check the status of your background report. No detail left unturned.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a Live Scan and an FD-258 card?
Live Scan is California’s electronic fingerprint submission system — prints go directly to the California DOJ, with results typically back in about a week. An FD-258 is a paper card mailed in for manual processing, which can take 4 to 6 weeks.
I don’t live in California — can I still get a Live Scan done?
Yes. We bring mobile live scan equipment to you anywhere in the Treasure Valley — your home, extended-stay housing, or workplace — so you don’t have to travel to California or track down a local live scan site on your own.
How much does it cost, and what’s included?
$349 flat rate per person, covering your mobile appointment, live scan fingerprint capture, paperwork completion and submission, and all required government fees.
How long does it take to get results?
Most clients have results back in under a week.
What areas do you serve?
Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, and the greater Treasure Valley.
